PaperCam Privacy Policy

PaperCam is a camera app that turns your photos into hand-drawn, paper-camera style pictures. We do not require an account, and we do not track you, sell your data, or use it for advertising. This policy explains the small amount of data the app handles and when a photo leaves your device.

Photos you take

Photos are captured and processed on your device. The default crayon / colored-pencil style is applied entirely on-device. A photo is saved to your Photos library only when you tap the Save button — nothing is saved automatically.

AI redraw (optional, third party)

PaperCam offers an optional "Redraw with AI" feature. Only when you tap it, the cropped image inside the paper-camera window is sent to the PaperCam server, which forwards it to OpenRouter, which in turn routes the request to the image model provider OpenAI (model gpt-image-1), so it can be redrawn in the style you chose. Key points:

• We ask first. Before any image is sent for the first time, the app shows a consent screen naming exactly what is sent and who receives it, and nothing is transmitted unless you tap to allow it. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings, under "AI 전송 동의"; once withdrawn, no further images are sent.
• If you decline, the app still works — the crayon / colored-pencil style is produced entirely on your device.
• Only the cropped window image is sent, together with a random per-install identifier used solely to enforce a daily usage limit. We do not attach your name, email, account, contacts, or location — the app has none of these.
• The image is used solely to generate your stylized result and is returned to your device. It is processed only for the duration of that request. The PaperCam server does not store your photos; we keep no copies, and we do not use your images for advertising or to train models.
• Handling of the request by these providers is governed by their own privacy policies, which provide protections equivalent to those described here: OpenRouter — https://openrouter.ai/privacy; OpenAI — https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.

API key

You do not need a key to use AI redraw — it works through the PaperCam server. Optionally, if you enter your own OpenRouter API key in Settings, it is stored only on your device, used to send AI redraw requests directly to OpenRouter, and is never sent to the PaperCam server.

Information we do NOT collect

PaperCam has no login and does not collect your name, email, phone number, location, contacts, or advertising identifiers. We use no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across apps or websites.

Permissions

• Camera — to show the live view inside the paper-camera frame and take your photo.
• Add to Photos — to save a picture to your library when you tap Save.

Each permission is used only for its feature. If you decline, the rest of the app still works.

Children's privacy

PaperCam does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else.

Data deletion

PaperCam does not keep your photos or personal data on our servers, so there is nothing for us to delete. Photos you saved live in your own Photos library and can be deleted there. Deleting the app removes its on-device settings, including any API key you entered.
