Frequently asked questions

How does PaperCam work?

Open the app, line up your shot inside the hand-drawn paper-camera frame, and tap the shutter. Your photo appears inside the paper camera in a warm crayon / colored-pencil style. Pick a different frame at the bottom, or tap "Redraw with AI" to restyle it (Colored pencil, Ghibli-style, Plushie, and more).

Why doesn't "Redraw with AI" work?

AI redraw uses an online image model via OpenRouter and needs an internet connection plus an API key. Open Settings and enter your OpenRouter API key. The basic crayon style always works offline, with no key required.

Where are my pictures saved?

Nothing is saved automatically. Tap the Save button on the result screen to add the picture to your Photos library, or use Share to send it anywhere.

How do I turn the hand overlay on or off?

Open Settings and toggle the paper-camera hand overlay. You can also tap the ✋ button on the camera screen.
